We begin with tons of items shipped in duffels on every missions trip.  The short-term missionaries bring a variety of “giveaway” items.  Collection of giveaways is a year-round project for M-G-M.  Shoes, clothing, personal care items, household items, and toys are collected, counted, packed, and shipped in M-G-M duffels with the mission teams.  The goal is supply support to an entire village.  Once in the DR we organize the items and pack them into individual bags for each family.  Special bags are made up for expecting mothers, newborns, and young children.  Personal care items such as soaps, shampoos, toothbrushes, toothpaste, washcloths, towels, and blankets are packaged for each family along with adult clothing and shoes.  A bag of food for each household is also provided.  Meat, sugar, flour, beans, oil, and salt are purchased in the local towns in the DR. M-G-M missionaries along with interpreters walk through Haitian villages sharing their faith and the much needed giveaways.  The people of the village are extremely grateful.  Over time, and many visits to the same village the people develop a trust with our missionaries and are much more receptive to the gospel message.   Spanish bible tracks and bibles are distributed to those who express and interest. We also work with the pastor of the villages to arrange for evening church services with M-G-M missionaries.
